Help New SD Card Won't Mount?

Any suggestions on how to get my Optimus M to recognize my new 16 GB SD card? I know the card is good, as I can put it in an adapter and access it from my laptop, but my M won't recognize it for some reason. It will still recognize my 8 GB one though. I read that you have to format it, so I downloaded an SD formatter software to my laptop and performed the formatting, but no change. Any ideas? I figure I'm missing some easy step I should know, but it's been 2 years since I did it the first time. Thanks

Therein lies the problem, no matter what I do I can't get it to mount. The phone won't recognize it. It's the same problem with an unformatted 2 GB SD card I have too, so I must just be missing a step. Any ideas?

It won't mount any other SD card?

It will mount my 8 GB that I've used since I got the phone. It's never had any problems, I just wanted to go with a larger 16 GB card. But it's weird that it won't recognize either the 16 GB or an extra 2 GB one I have lying around.

I had this problem first you need to format the card on the pc next make sure all files are off after format. Next put the sd card in the phone format in the device. The next thing after format in device mount. Now it may or may not. But u want to pull the battery for 5min put battery back in power up device see if she mount

I've done all of this to both SD cards, and can't get the phone to recognize them even after they've been formatted. It still says to insert an SD card, even though it's been installed. I can't even get to the point of formatting.

Do you have a custom recovery? If so, then partition it in recovery. Should mount in recovery on sd-ext mount. If not then you have a bad card.

You should be able to format the sdcard in recovery also. Formatting with a PC can make it not readable. It's always best to use the phone to do this.

You have a bad card or your putting the card in the wrong way you need to return the card or purchase a NEW. 16GIG. CLASS 10 CARD..... COMP USA HAS A SALE ON
