New SD card

Sorry if this has been asked before in these pages, but here goes...

I want to change the micro sd card in my HTC Desire with a larger capacity one. I was wondering what the possible pit-falls are.

Is it a simple matter to copy all the data from my present card to the new one, then put it in the handset, or is it not quite that simple?

The main thing is that I have quite a few apps which I've paid for. Will these still work if I simply copy all the data over to the new card

There were a few horror stories on here after black Friday of people who tried what you want to do. But you can copy (COPY not move) all your files onto a PC, format your new card, and copy the files onto it and you should be fine.

The apps that you've paid for are available for download free of charge anyway, if anything happens you'll lose only the data, not the app.

I've done it a couple of times with my HTC Hero and my HTC Desire. I found it's easiest when I just turn off the phone, pull out the Micro SD and use the little USB-adapter that comes with most Micro SD cards to copy the data over to the new card.
