New SD Card

I want to replace my current SD Card. Can I simply copy the full contents of the current card to a PC then back on to the new SD card or is there an app that will do it properly?

When I rooted, I had to use the SD card that came with my phone as a goldcard. I took the card out of the phone and hooked it to the computer (using a card reader). Copied all files in to a folder on the desktop and formatted the card - used it as a goldcard and then, when done, reformatted it before copying EVERYTHING back to the card... all went fine.

Long explination, but the answer to your question is YES, you can do it without an app! :D

A friend got a new SD card, and couldn't get the phone to recognise it as a file store.

Solution is to insert new card into phone, format on the phone (Settings -> SD & Phone Storage -> Erase SD Card), then you can transfer files from old card to PC to new card
