Help New SD card

That doesn't mean anything. The computer doesn't measure the amount of space, it asks the drive how much it has and, as I said above, the fake drives lie about it.

Well for sure the other visual differences between the eBay one & the known real one sure seem to indicate it's a fake.

Seller refunded my money 3 hrs after I filled the complaint...and didn't say anything about returning the fake card. I'll contact eBay next week to see if I need to send it back or not.

So....so I need to format the new card or just plug it into phone & start transferring stuff? I believe with my current card I just inserted it & started rolling 3 phones ago & have been swapping it out every time I've gotten a new phone since then.

I would suspect that you would want to return it, and the exception to that being if you're instead going to give it to the FBI.

I am an experienced eBayer and you do not have to return your goods unless the seller has asked you to as long as you have your money back. The seller clearly knows it's a fake and it's already been opened so it's not much use to him/her now.

Thanks for the info....I wish i would have waited to leave feedback till after I realized it was a fraud. The funny thing is last night I received a eBay notice on my phone that an item I was watching has been relisted....I checked it out & it's the same seller who relisted the exact card I had purchased. Wish eBay would do something about him.

This is one of the reasons that people like this often have good feedback. Many people are unfortunate enough only to realise they have a fake card months later when they irretrievably lose their data. You should consider yourself lucky.

Does that mean eBay gives you a lot of headaches? ;)
Yes.

The fact is that eBay is like the Wild West and is largely uncontrolled. You cannot trust anyone and you certainly cannot trust eBay to do the right thing. I would never buy anything expensive on eBay but I have bought hundreds of things and in the process saved a lot of money. Sometimes I have been burnt and you certainly don't have the assurance that you get buying from the high street. Nevertheless, if you go into it with your eyes open, eBay can be great.

Its been a week since I bought the Samsung Pro 64GB card and I have not had an "SD Card Unmounted Unexpectedly" error since buying the card. It appears as though the SanDisk Card was the issue.

Also, after being told that they would e-mail me the paperwork to return the defective card and a mailing label, I have heard nothing form SanDisk for over two weeks. Some fantastic customer support there.
