Help New SIM card (VZW)

I'd been having sporadic issues with my Nexus dropping off the network and not rejoining until a reboot (even airplane mode wouldn't fix it sometimes). I picked up a new SIM card from my local VZW store last night, and it definitely seems to have fixed the issue.

I had read about this before, but didn't find any recent posts regarding the issue. Are people still having these network drop/not re-authenticating problems? Did a new SIM card fix the issue for you? A friend of mine has a nexus and hasn't had this problem at all. I was only having it occasionally until the past week, when it has happened every day, sometimes more than once per day.
 
Interesting to see this posted. I had two replacement phones then figured out this is probably my issue. Sim arrives tomorrow..
 
Good luck with your new sim. So far, so good, for me. I've been keeping a close eye on my phone and have seen it bounce from 4G -> 3G -> 4G several times now, back and forth as I go in/out of buildings, metro, etc. It has re-joined the network each time correctly. I'd also had problems overnight. Almost every morning when I wake up, the phone would not be on the network. The past 2 nights, it's been fine.

There was an in-depth article on the issue, but I don't want to violate any forum rules by posting it. If you google search "verizon 4g authentication issues", you'll find some VZW forum posts with a link to the article, and discussion. One point that's made, however, is that it's only data connection that's lost. I've found that I was losing both data and voice. I couldn't even make or receive calls, so there very well may be something just wrong with my phone. I'll give this new sim a few weeks, if there are no problems then I'll consider it fixed and the sim the problem. If the problem continues, I'll return the phone and hope the VZW lady was right about it being "maybe an issue with the antenna".
 
Yeah, I was losing data and voice too. Trying to dial would give me "No Mobile Network Available".

So far though, the new sim is golden.
