New software update coming soon

Got mine this afternoon. It was sitting on my desk in front of me and just rebooted itself and downloaded. No noticeable differences yet, other than the clock app is there.

Been updated for about the last 8 hours or so here, nothing major on my end. No reboots or anything to speak of on my end. I've always had a good one though, so maybe it's just that.

Crud. I never had the random reboot problem before, but I've had two already in the past 4 hours.

Mine isn't rebooting, but sense keeps crashing and restarting since this update. It kept crashing when I was on a different home screen and hit the home button. Did a hard reset and it hasn't done it yet, but we'll see.

I guess Verizon has pulled the update since mine still has not found any update. i been looking at the droid x2 or going to iphone.

I never got the update either, I'd say the same, Verizon pulled it before I got it.

You are so very lucky, before the update my TBolt was like a completely different phone... everything worked like it should, it was responsive and just an overall GREAT experience. I even stopped counting down the days until I am able to get an upgrade and looked forward keeping it.

But in true Thunderbolt fashion the most recent update took that joy away; internet is all kinds of messed up (black area where address bar should be), problems with the auto correct when texting, and I even have random reboots come back... needless to say the count down is back on: 27 days, 15 hours, and 3 minutes

Just give me the original GB update to make me :D once again

Sorry to hear, but like you say that sounds true to thunderbolt fashion. I hope they get another update back up soon, another good one that is, and I was hesitant about getting the last update in fear something like that would happen

I can't understand why they have so much trouble figuring out what to do with this phone. The same update that screwed up your phone, got mine working like a charm again. After the original update, I was having random reboots again. All of that is now gone and everything works as it should. Go figure!

Yep that sounds about right. I can just see as soon as HTC releases another update my TB
will be back to normal (or less jacked up) and it mess something up on your TB.
My advise to you try to avoid that update like the plague lol

And yes I would love for HTC to figure out this phone but we all know that will not happen :(

I've had the most recent update since it was available and haven't had any issues with my phone.

I have noticed wonky behavior in the screen brightness since the update. I keep my brightness set very low for battery reasons, but when I want to show a pic from my gallery, I turn it up all the way. Most times after I open the gallery and turn the brightness back down, the setting doesn't stick. When I come back to the phone the brightness is way back up even though the setting isn't. I have to turn on automatic brightness, exit, go back and turn auto brightness off and then the setting sticks....weird.

Try the app Quickpic. It's free in the Market. It automatically turns the screen to full brightness when you open up a picture. When you exit the picture, it returns brightness to whatever level you had before. I like it better than the stock Gallery.

I wasn't aware of this, since the update happened 12/21/11, while I was asleep. I think this explains why I haven't been in reboot hell, since then. It did not fix whatever is causing my LED to flash, even though I have that off in main settings. I think I'm going to hold back on factory reset and just keep uninstalling crap I do not use and backing data up, since I now know that code change is at least in part behind the improved behavior. It is a shame that what works for some breaks it for others.
There was one random reboot, but only one, since this update. Nov and Dec before this update was a daily reboot nightmare.
