Help new sync problems

Have looked on forum but couldn't see my specific problem.
For the last 6 months sync, using the usb has worked well.
Now ( maybe after an update to htc sync) they won't see each other.
The sync icon on the pc screen brings sync up, but it only sits there for a few seconds and then vanishes.
The Desire says that I have to load the latest htc sync to my pc. This I have done and they still don't see each other.

Maybe its not related but the wireless sync is working fine.

Have you tried reinstalling the old version of Sync?

What do you use it for? It seems totally useless to me?

Having just been on with htc they came up with the solution of doing a factory reset. This I have done and everything is now working. Got to do lots of customising of course, but thats life and technology.

How do I get my apps reloaded ?
