Help New System Update?

I had to disable the Connection Optimizer as my phone kept kicking down to 1x speeds with it on and my battery was being drained alarmingly fast. Once I disabled Connection Optimizer my phone is back to normal.

Anybody else having problems with the Virgin Splash being real loud during reboots after the update? The only way to silent it is to put the phone on vibrate only or silent. Prior to the update the Virgin Splash would play but only to the ringtone volume I had set previously. It's just flat out loud now. I always keep the ringtone volume low and didn't have a problem with it before the update. Kinda sucks to remember to silent your phone before a restart

You shouldn't say that so loud, someone might hear you. I've never seen anyone ever say that they didn't mind the animation or startup sound. :p
OB
lol, it's not that bad. Anyway, it's back to playing at the ringtone volume of my choice again after about 25 or so restarts. Gotta love these phones

You don't have to root the phone to get that startup sound silenced.

On Instagram, it won't upload every post. Some posts say "Couldn't load Image. Tap to retry." I tap it, and it doesn't even try to re-load it.

What can I do to fix this?

anyone get 2.95.615.4 from the above link? or is 2.95.652.5 what was actually sent to everyone? (just got the update on mine)

Guys, be careful taking that update if you ever want to get s-off. There's a 9 page thread on this update in the All Things Root section of this forum. The HBOOT it gives you seems to be causing some grief, but I must admit, I have't been following too closely as I don't plan on changing my HBOOT ever and I'm already S-off.

I installed the update on 3/18 and have had no problems since.
I'm 100% stock (no rooting, s-off, nothing)

I haven't noticed any significant changes, other than the browser is fixed so that you can click on the bar at the top and start typing your new web address (that is worth it right there).
Haven't noticed any other changes, so I imagine it was just under the hood bug fixes, etc.

I'm confused (but that's nothing new..)
I got the update this morning and read the big long thing about the Connection Optimizer. If I understand correctly, it's supposed to switch the phone from 3/4G to WiFi when in range of a known network?
Isn't the phone supposed to do that anyway? I never bother with WiFi since my plan is unlimited data, so I ended up turning off the Optimizer. With it on, my battery looked to be going down rapidly.
Other than being able to clear the browser's address bar (yay!), are there any other worthwhile changes in this update?

A few have mentioned their signal was stronger after the update. Getting service where previously there was slim or none. Also heard about the WiFi transfer rate and signal improved.

But the only thing I have noticed is the browser address bar. Signal might be a little better with less ups and downs

I just got my HTC evo v 4g and it gave me the notification about the system update should I download it

Ever since I installed the update on mine (on the 18th) my wifi has had serious issues. It randomly turns off occasionally and drops the connection and says it is out of range (even if I'm next to the wifi router). I came to this forum to see if it's been a problem for anyone else. Has anyone else had this issue?
