Root New to Android & Admire.. Advice please

Hey Everyone. Have been lurking around and reading a lot of the posts here since I picked up the admire on metro service about a week ago.

So far have successfully rooted mine, trashed some of the bloat and gotten Clockwork running. No issues there save for having to run the root a few times over. No big deal.

Have a few questions for everyone here where help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

#1 I see where Titanium runs busybox on it's own but with all the options out there which is the best installer to pull from the market to get an independent busybox install on my phone?

#2 After getting Clockwork in I did a backup, just in case I should fudge something up in tweaking. For some reason when I connect phone to the windows PC and I go to open the drive associated with the phone it's not detecting folders or anything... Have tried this in debug and not in debug. What am I doing wrong / not seeing?

#3 Which is the best Root Access file manager for fully pulling the bloat out of the system? Is Root Explorer really worth the $4.00 or is there something just as good that is free etc?

That will do for now but I am sure I will have others that I throw out there for the community. Thanks in advance everyone.

Welcome to the forums! :)

I recommend Steven (stericson) BusyBox.

Root Explorer is that good if you want that level of help. For a free alternative, I recommend EStrongs File Explorer. Remember to freeze bloatware first by adding a ".sav" after the ".apk" file name, reboot, and ensure that all phone functions work. Nandroid backup before tinkering. ;)

So, when you plug in to usb, do you get a charge / disk option? Sounds like your phone is stuck on charge. Try pulling down the notification bar after plugging in, and tap the usb symbol. Or you probably have a setting that will force it to one or the other or to ask. Varies by model where that is, but you might check for that.
