New to android and I have a Mac

First post here in the forums.

I just ordered the HTC Magic to use on AT&T. I'm using it for a backup phone for my iPhone 3GS and to learn the OS. It looks interesting.

I have a few questions.
Can I update the Magic to 2.1 with Sense UI, Can I update it with a Mac?
How do I update the phone, do I have to worry about it being relocked once I do the update?
