Help New to Android...Best browser to use on Nexus rather than stock?

Shockwave78

There are a few things i dont like about the stock browser, mainly the way the bookmarks are laid out.

Anyway..I tried Opera out and its pretty good, any other recommendations?

I like most of Dolphin HD. There are some workflow issues that I have with it (mostly personal preference) but it's got a whole bunch of plugins and such.

Dolphin is probably widely accepted as the best, but I much prefer the stock browser, and ICS seems to have improved on that.

is there anyway to just have a list of bookmarks on the stock browser? Not these huge tiles you have to scroll through?

i have always prefered stock browser over 3rd party browsers, its just like having chrome on your device instead of internet explorer

Couldn't tell you off the top of my head. I'm stuck with the Sense browser right now. I don't recall a way to change the bookmark layout, unless it's something new they added.

Not that I've found.

Dolphin browser HD will have what you're looking for. Just drag the screen to the right and a list of your bookmarks will appear onthe left side of the screen.

Very slick, easy bookmarks access.

There should be a way to have the bookmarks in list mode. I haven't looked for it yet, but at least in older Android versions you could.

Has anyone found a quick way to access bookmarks? It seems like there is an extra step.

Also, Dolphin is a great browser. I use it and stock about the same. I usually set Dolphin for non-mobile and use stock to view mobile sites

quick menu in the labs setting.

It's bigger on my eee transformer, but you have swipe/stop access to your bookmarks. Love it on the GN!

edit: sorry that was for accessing the windows, not the bookmarks.

Dolphin is what I use now. The plug-ins are great, especially Read It Later.

Interesting. Dolphin browser HD has been crashing on my gnex...did they do a recent update? I uninstalled it and I'm just using stock browser right now...

If this helps I found a decent way to get to bookmarks. Press and hold the the back button when you are in the browser and it goes to a page where you have quick access to bookmarks, history, and saved pages. The only issue now is it defaults to History. If I can find a way to have it default to Bookmarks, I am in business.

I'm going stock. I usually only hit about 5 sites on my phone anyway, and the device syncs with my Chrome bookmarks in the cloud.
