New to Android - How to Quick Start Learning?

Hey I'm new to android, just picked up my EVO 3D today, switched from an LG Rumor. Are there any guides or tips I can read so I can get fluent with the Android OS as fast as possible?

Welcome to the forums - and welcome to owning a 3vo!

We often hear this question and a few of the mods have put together some good quick-start guides.

I've decided to give us a special thread for your question, and post those tips here. (Give me a little bit to round those up, meanwhile, others may freely add good links and vids they know.)

Once we have this in place (shouldn't take too long at all) we'll put this one in the Official Forum Guide - it's a great question! :)

PS - and yes - some things you'll only find the user's guide. We have a link for that in PDF.

1. The Manual (RTFM)
2. Go to the Sprint site, and watch the video accessed from your account
3. Play with it

I did this in order 3,1, next I'll try 2. Cool phone.

My favorites: Download a flashlight. Use the microphone. Change the skin, Change the lock screen, Watch 4 minutes of Green Hornet.

Android is basically like Windows. Don't know how computer proficient you are since you didn't mention that in your post, but...

If you are good with computers and know how to do basic things like move files around in Windows explorer, you'll be fine. Just explore a little.

Get Astro File Manager so you can see the folders, directories, etc and it will make more sense.

App drawer is basically your start button.
Home screens are basically your desk top.
