Hello everyone BIG time Apple Fanbou here the last 3 years and finally made the jump to an Android device and man was it worth it!!!
iPhone 3GS to Samsung Galaxy S2!!!!

NOTHING on the market here in Germany tops this thing...maybe the Experia Arc but its close...

Couple of questions for you android know it alls...

1.) Is my Device NFC compatible..and if so how do i tell?
2.) Simple battery saving tips??? This thing burns battery just sitting there on my desk!!!!!
3.) Where are all the good Android games??? Apple has wayyyyyy more!?!? :(
4.) Can I get amazon apps and if so where???
5.) The best way to root my device is???
6.) Someone said...'I updated to KE4 and then flashed the Euro KE7 firmware it now NEVER gets hot' how do i get this firmware so my phone isnt so damn hot anymore???
7.) Best way to get my quadrant score higher then 2500?????

Thanks for the help guys ! ! ! :-) :D:D:D:D

1. Yes though not if your in the UK. This dont matter much as you can buy a micro sd card now with a NFC chip in.
2. Have you flashed a different ROM onto the phone? If so, try "batterycalibration" from the marketplace.
3. Check the marketplace, as well as gameloft, ea app etc
4. Yes you can download the amazon app store, they have something for free every day normally. Google it ;)
5. Easy - [ROM + Guide]Official i9100 KE7/KE8/KF1/KF3/KF4/KF2/KF3 download and Root Guide. - xda-developers
6. Read the above ;)
7. Ignore quadrant (though 2500 seems low) as its not optimized for dual core phones. Exit all running tasks before running quadrant to have the max amount of free RAM/CPU etc :)

I've seen a few about setting up a fake account with US address etc. but thought i'd missed Amazon announcing a UK release!

There are loads of games on Android it's just bloody hard to find them due to the poor search features in the market.

i dont think the current SGS2 version is not NFC capable

battery saving tips are all over this forum, just search around a bit. but dont expect huge battery savers without compromising on features (live wallpaper, push email, etc)
the android market is the best place to look for apps, i'd say. the apps for android keeps growing, dont worry

amazon appstore is currently US only

i havent rooted yet, so i wont answer this one

KF2 is the newest firmware as far as i know, and its wat im running. no serious heat problems on this firmware for me.. the link is posted by SilverDroid

dont know about the last one

faking an account to get access to amazon appstore could get u banned from amazon, i hear. so u might want to create a new email address etc if ur interested in this

Download a quick settings app and sync app. These will let you turn off mobile data and sync when you are not using them. With these off mine uses 0-1% of battery in about 8 hours standby.

Hey. Is there any particularly good apps you came across for that? And would they run on a stock phone? Thanks

1 last thing...

Currently
my android version is 2.3.3
my Baseband here in germany is 19100XXKE4
my kernal version is 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKE7
NON Rooted...

am i already upgraded to the newest firmware and if so why the hell is my phone still so hot when i use it. i thought this firmware stopped nearly all phone heat?

AFAIK the new firmware doesn't have anything to do with the heat issue. The incredible heat is simply due to a very, very slim (plastic) body on the phone and the CPU being pushed (e.g. when playing games). Consider how hot a CPU gets and then think about how LITTLE space there is to dissipate that heat on your phone. That said, it should always cool down afterwards.
