Help New to android

i have a few questions....how do i get the date to show on the the phone while its locked ? also how come i cant connect my phone to my car through USB? it says check usb but the phone shows thats its charging? also how come my phone does not charge in the car it shows that its charging but after an hour its dead?

can you tell me why my usb doesn't connect to my car and also why does it say my phone is charging but it never actually charges in the car
