Root New to Bolt need some help

You shouldn't need to worry about the radio then.

You can flash the most recent version of clockworkmod recovery with rom manager but I suggest using the instructions here http://androidforums.com/thunderbol...91-how-some-root-terminology.html#post2812075 to flash the rom. I don't think rom manager will wipe all partitions that it should and can cause issues IMO

I am trying to do the checksum step on my phone via the Scary alien app, but don't know where to go to compare it to the developer's checksum. I am planning on using the stock w/out bloatware rom that you suggested to me.

Are there any settings where I can turn off OTAs permanently or is it a "just deny it if it ever shows up" type of thing?

There is no option to turn off. It one rolls out it may prompt you to update if it doesn't and it soft bricks your phone then it should be easy to fix. All you really need to do when an OTA cows out is flash the new OTA rom to avoid getting an update.
