New to Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Hi, I'm getting a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in a few days as a birthday present, but am new to tablets, so wondered if anyone can give some tips as to good apps, uses etc for them.

I have an S4 phone so I'm guessing its going to have similarities to that, so are apps etc the same?

Most apps that work with the phone should work with the tablet. There are some apps made specifically for tablets.

Some apps I have on my tablet are

Nova Prime Launcher
Evernote
Assistant, a virtual assistant
Dolphin Browser
Dropbox

Just to name a few.
