new to group

Hi all. I'm new to the group & I'm tech challened! I'm hesitant to update apps that are working well because I've had updates ruin more than a few. I like my google play music app but hate that I can't edit the id tags! I read that the newest update is supposed to enable the user to do this but when I read the reviews of the latest update the majority are BAD! Suggestions?

I read the app comments in Play Store before I update. I wait until there seems to be a trend of overall positive comments after the update is released before I update.

If there are bugs it will be pointed out in the comments by users

Same as barry. Use the filter to read reviews for my device and latest version. If you root you can make backups of apps so if you dont like the update you can just roll back

Hello al bundy no maam! You have no idea how much your user name made me chuckle. Fond memories of one of my favorite shows. :D

Anyway, welcome to Android Forums. You'll find a wealth of information and help around here, so kick back and make yourself at home.

would be like... number three on my "list of reasons rooting is the bees knees".

but yeah, just let other people make your mistakes for you. as long as it's not some random app with like 10k downloads, you'll have people complaining as soon as it's updated.

Re the latest version of Google Play Music allowing you to edit tags: it doesn't.

Or at least, I just tried looking through the multitude of menus in all their different contexts and I couldn't find anything that looked even vaguely like an edit option.

Of course, it could just be I don't have my counter-intuitivity hat on - and you really need one to do anything with Play Music
