Have you tried an OTA update? I know they must've released one, the Nexus was having reception problems at launch, but by now you would think it would've been fixed, seeing as it wasn't a problem with the physical antenna. Anyways, your problem could also be the network. Verizon uses eHRPD to authenticate it's 4G phones and devices, it's relatively new and still has some bugs. According to your original post, you have 4G coverage in your area. If you didn't I would advise disabling eHRPD. My Stratosphere disconnects from the network all the time when I've got eHRPD enabled, no matter what type of coverage area I'm in. If speed doesn't matter to you, you could probably just disable it and not worry at all. You'll even save some battery life.

there hasn't been an OTA update since the launch. Everyone for the most part is still struggling with krap radio signal...me included.
