Root new to ROM's

I haven't been on this site in a good while. At one point I had my DX rooted and a ROM on it, but that was a long time ago and I have gotten a replacement phone since then. (I didn't bother rooting it)

I now have rooted my phone and want to start doing cool things with it again. I have forgotten 100% how to do anything, lol. I see that z4 no longer works so I had to the the Pete's 1 click root method. Now I want to install a ROM. I am reading a lot of good things about the MIUI ROM, but it seems VERY complicated especially since I know nothing about installing a ROM.

So here are my questions,

Can someone walk me through step-by-step installing a ROM, and possibly installing MIUI? If MIUI is too complicated for someone as amateur as me can you recommend a different "easier" ROM?

What version of GB ate you on? .602 or. 605 just for a bit of info. You can just download MIUI and flash it though recovery
 
Well I'm a jump-in head first type of guy and went ahead and flashed MIUI ontop of my .605. Followed instructions to the T and it seems to be working fine!
