Root new to root

I'm new to rooting> my friend showed me how to tether, and i wanted to do it. I rooted this morning. Now what should i do. what are must haves? I'm pretty much clueless on what to do. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Depends on what your looking to do.

Custom ROMs etc?

ROM Manager, ADB, Odin, knowledge of Clockwork, lots of reading and questions haha.

Tethering? Tons of apps, I use one called "Wireless Tether" doesnt work wonderfully, but does the job.

Other good things to have are the apps "Root Explorer", "Titanium Backup" is a definite.

Depends on what you want to do with your new rooted SF. :]

But I'd definitely suggest reading up through the tutorials before you jump into Roms and Kernels and all.

Greetings jbazan2127,

Welcome to the forums. There is a ton of information available to answer your questions. I would suggest you read the following to get yourself acquainted with all that comes with root.

To steal a phrase, "With great power, comes great responsibility", try not too get to eager to change a lot of things, until you've had a chance to read that sticky. Rooting doesn't have to be hard, but it can get tricky quickly.

Not trying to scare you off rooting, I just think that you will benefit a lot from understanding what your about to do.

Happy tinkering.:p
