Root new to rooting, have a question

ive rooted, and installed a custom rom, but really want to try out some other roms to see which i like most, i just wanted to know if there's some way to keep all my currently installed apps and phone data when i install a new rom.
 
It is possible to back up your current set up, so that if you don't like the new ROM, you are able to go back to what you had before.

You would need to reboot in to clockworkmod... there are a couple of ways to do this... eiother by powering off your phone and then powering on, whilst holding the volume down button - Your phone will enter the bootloader... you can then navigate by using the volume keys and select using the power key. Navigate to Recovery (second in the list) and press power - this will take you in to recovery (go to backup and restore and select backup). As you have said you have a custom ROM, another possibility would be to go to power it off and you may have the option to reboot in to recovery.

Another thing to do... get Titanium Backup from the market - the free version is ok, but it is worth paying for it, as it lets you do a couple of other things.

This can be used to back up all apps and data associated with the apps!
 
tyvm for the help guys, i am running into an odd problem with the lordmod UV app tho, superuser seems to just auto deny it without asking me even tho its set to ask for SU permissions
 
Do you have the terminal emulator app installed? You can UV via the terminal (I can't remember the commands though, I'll need to check when I'm home).

Alternatively, you could try flashing the app again?

Each phone/tablet has it's own section... if you click on phone or tablet and scroll until you find your device, there will be an "All Things Root" section for your device... this is where to get the best info on rooting, as each device is slightly different and has different root methods.

i do have the terminal app installed, there's a readme in the zip file that tells you how to manually do it in terminal,but i think ill reflash the app first and see what happens, thanks again
