New to site, help please

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me solve an issue I'm having with my tablet. When I boot it up it won't do anything other than prompt this message, exactly as follows

"the application ICS 4.0 Launcher (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

I have tried again many a time and looked for answers and can't find anything on my own. Can anyone help?

Sounds like an issue with the main android start up sequence,what device do you have?

Is it rooted....etc..

It is a kindle fire. And sorry I dont know what rooted means. I'm not the least bit tech savy.

depending what kindle fire you have.

you can also try a hard reset. i think you can do this by powering off and then hold the power button for like 20 seconds. it might delete any data you might have.
