Help New to smartphones, Android

So after losing my trusty Sony Ericsson w580i, I finally joined the smartphone world about 10 days ago. I went into Best Buy set on getting the iPhone 4S, but was convinced that the Infuse would be a better phone. After a week and a half, I have no complaints or arguments--I'm just blown away with the large, vibrant screen and all the cool free stuff I could find on the Android Market.

From what I've read around here so far, I get that the Infuse has been around for a little while now and is a bit of a red-headed stepchild when it comes to Samsung phones. That might explain why I got the phone for free, but I'm still really impressed with the phone thus far.

So far my phone is still completely stock, save for some apps I've put on. JuiceDefender and turning off the data network when I don't need it seems to have worked wonders for battery life. I'm currently running firmware 2.2.1 and UCKH1 for Baseband (whatever that means), and I don't really want to get into rooting and getting ROMs going. Any recommendations to make this great phone even better?

The only weird thing that's happened thus far was when several apps that I'd installed seemed to disappear. They were all free from the market, so it was just an inconvenience. My progress on Angry Birds Rio was saved somehow even after I reinstalled the app.

Any reason why my apps disappeared, and any way to make sure that doesn't happen again?

I think I had apps appear to disappear when my external SD card failed to get recognized. I reseated it and rebooted and they came back. I think some SD cards don't fit well into the phone and they mount and unmount from time to time causing file corruption or missing stuff. Just a guess.

The reason could be that the free games are ruining your phone. My girlfriend wanted to play muffin knight game and the free one made my infuse very slow until I uninstalled it which went back to normal. It was very strange....

Now a days many people simply can not imagine life without smart phones. I have recently purchased an iPhone 4S for myself, and I love it! I have downloaded many apps and games. My favourite games are angrybirds and need for speed underground!
