I might have had a breakthrough! I'm rubbish with variables and have just discovered I had them set wrongly. Instead of having '! Set' I had 'Is Set'.

Fingers crossed it starts to work

Aha! I probably should have been clearer when I was going through my profiles - I'll take the blame for that!

Glad you're making progress though - and learning in the process is always a plus!

Its far from your fault its a language i'm not familiar with so just need to explore some more.

Hey so i tried adding my gf wifi and like i thought since it doesn't see my wifi it doesn't turn over... how can I add another wifi to the same tab (sorry I don't exactly know the correct terminology yet) it never allows me to add more to the profiles only to change what's already in there

In the profile you already have for your own Wifi, there is the state on the left and the task on the right. Tap the state and where you see your Wifi ssid there is a looking glass on the right. When you're connected to your gf Wifi tap the looking glass and you will see a list of ssid available. Tap your gf ssid to select it.

Then just use the back arrow to come all the way out of tasker and you will be set
