The easiest way for me to root, kernel, voodoo and rom I found it this below. You can find other methods but this one will give your root, clockwork recovery, voodoo kernel, and a rom to start with. You can flash another rom if you like via odin.
This is assuming you have taken all the updates and are on EE4.
**I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PHONE IF YOU DO THIS**
(if I have missed something please post below and I will make the changes)
1. Download this to your PC in a place where you can find it:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VHQRV3W8
2.Download Samsung Drivers to your PC:
Turn OFF USB Debugging. Plug the phone into your PC via USB. A "cd-rom" named Verizon should pop up in your drive list. There's four or five files in there. Run the one to install the drivers. Once that's finished, you can turn off the phone, then boot it into download mode (I assume you know how) and Odin will recognize the phone at that point. The "cd-rom" drive would not pop open for me while USB Debugging was turned on, so I missed it. (per "distortedloop" xda forum)
3. Download Odin from here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J4Y10P6G and unzip the oden exe file.
4. a. Open ODIN.
b. Put the phone into download mode. Do this by powering off your phone, pulling out the battery, and then holding volume down while connecting it to your pc.USE THE SAMSUNG USB CABLE. TO DO THIS A giant yellow triangle should be on the phone's screen and it should say 'Downloading...' ODIN should say 'Added!!' and one of the boxes will be yellow and say '0:[COM7]'
c. Click the button labeled 'PDA' and locate the file you are wanting to flash. For emphasis:
YOU MUST USE THE PDA BUTTON, IT MAY BRICK IF YOU USE THE PHONE BUTTON ON ODIN.
d. Choose the file to flash that you downloaded in step 1. It should be named "Gummy175mod.tar.md5" Once the file shows up in the box and you show your phone connected press start and let it run. When it is finished (the phone will shut down) put the battery back in and start the phone. The phone will boot to recovery the fist boot. Using the volume buttons scroll down and folloow the instructions here:

Please donate to all the developers who made this possible especially
danalo1979 on the XDA forum who put together the one stop process. I have nothing to do with the development of any rom, kernel, etc. I am just a cut and paste guy
