New type of Android "System" ad pop-up, not browser pop-up ads or Air Push!!

Is this all related to why I've been seeing green plus symbol notifications on my status bar this past week? At first I could figure out what the hell it meant, but then I realized after digging a bit that they were linking me to what looked like the Android Market site and to an app called "My Videos" from a supposed developer called Mobisoft. However, after checking the real Market this app wasn't listed nor could I find anything about it nor the "developer" online.

I just got another notification for a different app but when I power cycled my phone it went away.

The kicker is that I don't download apps much. The last app I've downloaded in a month was Google+. Deleted that after only a few days of 50% increased battery use.

that sounds a little more malicious.
at least I believe that the advertisement I received was for a legitimate app, from a developer on the official app market.

unfortunately I have no way of confirming this without reinstalling the app responsible, as I had uninstalled it immediately after experiencing the notification.

There appears to be a bug in the Google+ app. If you try to do a manual sync, it will reupload all of your pics and vids, and at the end it will hang using up all of your battery. I had to uninstall and reinstall a few times to fix it, and I'm not doing a manual sync anymore.

BTW, the way I found this thread is because avast! told me 3d Fireflies Wallpaper was malware and asked me to uninstall it. So I did some research on the Internet.

That Fireflies app is still on the Android Market. I wonder of they are going to remove it.
