New update help along with root questions...

Ok I'll try to make this make as much sense as I can. I have rooted my Eris (love it btw thanks Jamezelle). But as many people already know about the OTA today for the Eris.

1: So I was wondering, do all rooted roms disable the System Update feature?

2: If they do is there a way to get my phone back to where I could get the ota to fix any problems my phone may be having?

3: Would it be even worth doing something like this?

4: Doesn't someone typically post the ota file online anyways so that I don't necessarily have to do this and just wait for the OTA file to be posted?

5: Also if I do somehow manage to get the new ota to fix the problems if I flash a different rom will it make the new ota null and void?

6: And Last but certainly not least I read in the forum somewhere that someone is working on a 2.2 Rooted Rom for the Eris could someone post the link for me so that I make try it out? Thanks Everyone for your help.

not sure about 1-5 but here's 6 (theres 2 diff. ones):
[ROM]KaosFroyo V23 [07/14] [FROYO] - xda-developers
or this
[ROM] CELB Froyo 1.2(wifi and stock mms now working) - xda-developers

Most do.

2: If they do is there a way to get my phone back to where I could get the ota to fix any problems my phone may be having?
You'd likely have to flash a stock rom.

3: Would it be even worth doing something like this?
Probably not. The fixes will likely be integrated into a new version of each rom.

4: Doesn't someone typically post the ota file online anyways so that I don't necessarily have to do this and just wait for the OTA file to be posted?
I'm betting we'll see an slew of updates coming out for most roms as soon as the OTAs start going out. I'd just wait a few days for your rom of choice to be updated.

5: Also if I do somehow manage to get the new ota to fix the problems if I flash a different rom will it make the new ota null and void?
Yes. The update only affects the current rom you are on. When you wipe, it's gone.

There's 3 different ones currently that are based on 2.2.

[ROM]KaosFroyo V23 [07/14] [FROYO] - xda-developers
[ROM] Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 Test 4 v2 /mms/market update - xda-developers
[ROM] CELB Froyo 1.2(wifi and stock mms now working) - xda-developers
