Did i read that this is to address some issue with battery drain during sleep?

who gives a darn about that! How about issues people are facing while they are using the device, forget when its asleep!

Im getting so frustrated, i should really throw this stupid thing on ebay and be done with it. Each day im hoping for fixes ... at this point i've lost track of what im waiting to be fixed!

its been over 2 months now :(

Thankfully i can still use my device. But these annoyances are just not acceptable for a top dollar, cutting edge, device.

I just want my perfect Prime back. Before .13 I never had a sudden shutdown now I've had 3 and I think I stopped one by rebooting when I thought it was going to happen again. I'd be messing around and it would just turn off. Is this what is know as the, reboot issue because, mine didn't reboot, it just shut down and I had to push the power button to start it up again. This never happened before .13. I hope this is addressed in the next update or I'm going back to .11.

Seems like I'm still getting a battery drain issue while it sleeps. I wish this thing had a hibernate type mode. Or does it?

wow i posted this, then my doorbell rang ... ITS HERE!!!! My Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle! Oops, i mean my PRIME!!!

So i ripped the packaging apart like a bear, and plugged it in .. forcing myself to walk away. Didnt i read on here to charge for 8hrs before playing with it? IS IT TRUE???

Plus it has to thaw out lol .. it was on the truck and is FREEZING! The glass is like frosted lol

Was this the second one you got? If it is the first, then it hasn't been two months of ownership yet.

The battery will always drain to some extent while sleeping. It takes power to keep things alive. All sleep really does is shut off the screen. Background tasks have to keep running, or else your alarms won't go off, no sync gets done, etc. If you truly want to prevent any battery drain, then shut it down completely. Even then it will use a very small amount of power, to run the clock etc, but that's negligible.

I notice my battery drains when its asleep if I leave wifi on, really notice it overnight. So I've just been turning it off. Turning off wifi it hardly uses any battery.

Similar to my Galaxy S2 but not nearly as bad.

regarding the battery drain ....

i read somewhere the last update caused the core speeds to be slightly increased at idle, to avoid rebooting issues or something. So to fix the reboot issues they had to ditch some battery life.

decent tradeoff if you ask me

I read the same thing. I also read that this was done as a temporary measure until the next update was released. So, maybe the update that is supposed to be released in the next weeks will once more run the cores slower when idle.

I'll bet the recent kernel update will help in the battery department
