new update today?

Has anyone received an update today?

A friend of mine who has the update that was pulled just had an alert on his phone that there is an update available!?

Im not getting it, but then again i dont have the previous update either.

Can anyone confirm this please?
 
yeah me too..and so is my friend's.

weird. Ill get him to send me more details. Bear in mind he had the update over xmas..i dont.

Same situation here, also no upgrade showing, and no info on the UK HTC site regarding the release of an upgrade.

Hopefully Capuman will find out more about the upgrade their friend received.
 
Just went over at XDA as they usually have leaks and stuff, but no sign on updates. Highly doubt it yet unless it is a bug fix for 2.2.1

Well unbranded you get none of your networks "Bloat-ware", when HTC release an update you should get it as soon as its released. The other thing is you don't have a "badged logo" on your handset, well that is what used to happen with nokia's etc etc

I debranded my Vodafone desire to get 2.2 earlier.
Things where ok until the latest update and mine would fail to install the update
Source on the board suggested possible HTC security prevent unbranded via gold card to update
How true I dont know

It does make sense, but it doesn't have anything to do with an update for the Desire HD. Android is fundamentally open-source (although I've never had any reason to investigate the truth of this) and the announcement you've posted just says that Google have released some more of the source code (i.e. lines of code as typed by the original programming team) so that developers can make changes to this should they have any reason to do so.

No but this from HTC. HTC's Sense doesn't have to be Open Source.

Theres nothing mentioned about Google when opening that link
