Help New user, got a quick question about notification

I would like to have different notification sounds setup for different contacts when receiving text messages.

So for example, I will have one sound notification setup for Bob when I get a text from him and I will have a DIFFERENT sound notification when I get a text from George.

I have tried to go to contact > select the contact > edit > ringtone. But that seems to only work for phone calls, but NOT receiving text messages.

[SOLVED] I downloaded this free app from the android market called Handcent. It allows me to set different notification sounds to different contacts.
