Hi guys

Have bought a galaxy note and ave connected to kies on my pc. Whwn looking for an update is comes up with a message GT N7000 DOES NOT SUPPORT INITIALISING.

does this mean i cant update the phone when ics is rolled out

I have used kies a few times without issue. I would contact samsung support with the question. I am not sure what the message means. If you search online for that error there are a few others that have seen that message on various samsung android devices but not many. I didn't see any resolution. Samsung should be able to tell you more...

I have a Note and I have never seen that error with Kies, Have you tried just reinstalling Kies from scratch again? It sounds to me like Kies isn't recognizing your device correctly or something else strange. When I looked this up it seems that the GT-N7000 has to do with a Singapore release? Try checking this out see if this helps.... Good Luck!

I face this error with my Galaxy Note (purchased in Nov 2011) all the time on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop. I have reinstalled Windows 7. That does not help either.

I am having the exact same problem, GT-N7000 does not support initialisation. Scoured the internet and cannot seem to find any sort of answer as of yet.

Strangely after re-installing Kies NOT connecting the phone and just going to Firmware upgrade and initialization, entering the S/N and model it comes up with the same 'GT-N7000 does not support initialisation'.

Very odd, very annoying!

me also having the same problem even I try more than 4 pc using windows 7 and windows 8 . I think there is something wrong with my phone ????
 
Does it actually need to be initiallized though. I think that is the question not asked here. What does that do and is it needed for the Note?
