New user saying hi

Im new to contract phones having been on pay as you go for years. Took the plunge yeaterday and signed up for a HTC Hero with the 3 network in the UK. I am very daunted by all the stuff that this phone has, im even struggling to simply add my contacts. Things need to be explained to me in laymans terms

Thanks for the welcome guys. Ive had my first 24 hrs of playing about with this and the one thing that is bugging me is the text size, even with my reading glasses my eyes are being strained. Im afraid this could be a deal breaker for me as i have 14 days to decide if i want to keep the phone.
