New Viewsonic GTab owner here...

[FatDog]

Hello. I'm a software developer mainly doing back-end Linux work for a website.

A former co-worker who loves to dabble in technology loves his Viewsonic G Tablet and he rooted one and installed Vegan 7.0.0 for me and I just picked it up Thursday. $260 Woot price so I figured it was a great way to get into tablets (and perhaps tweak the noses of the iPad owners at work )

So far I have:

• Installed a live wallpaper with clouds
• Installed Flash (Mainly so I can read books on O'Rielly Bookshelf)
• Installed Kindle app so I can compare reading experiences with the Kindle
• Discovered some videos would not play so installed MoboPlayer & posted results in another thread about watching HD videos
• Ordered Skintomi Carbon Fiber skin (just arrived)
• Failed to correctly order a GameLoft game

And I'm having a blast.

This and the XDA forum looks like a great place for information so I am hoping to learn a lot from you guys.

FatDog (great username, BTW ), welcome to the AndroidForums!

Yeah, getting a tablet (rooted no less) for that price is a pretty sweet deal .

I'm glad you found us and signed-up. Like you said, XDA is a great Android site too (many of us have an account over there, too).

I hope you find the folks here at AF as helpful and friendly as I have.

Cheers!
