Help New voicemail notification... but i don't have a new voicemail

In my notification bar at the top of my screen it says i have 1 voicemail. This notification also pops up when i turn my phone back on from being locked. However, when I check my voicemail, I do not have a new message or any saved messages either. Whats going on and how do I get rid of it?

I had the same problem. This is how I got rid of the voicemail icon. Call yourself from another phone and leave a message. Once you delete that message the voicemail icon will be gone (at least it was on my phone).

Had the same issue. Finally fixed it by going into applications> phone> force stop and viola, gone...
