New Zmax Pro Already in Some Stores

More lunacy today @ corporate, unfortunately resellers hadn't received yet.
I entered, confirmed w/ manager new
Zmax available before signing in to wait behind 20 others / 3 manned stations.
Then finally got called:
I'd like to get the new phone.
What new phone?
The Zmax Pro.
We don't have it.

Anywho, I was very fortunate that I caught the Mgr when I walked in - he's usually behind closed doors... in fact, he did not come out again the whole time I was there. The girl who sold me the phone is the only one stationed close to the door / sign-in sheet!
Even worse, she's been there for years.

*sigh* You work in a cellular store, how can you not know about new releases?! I'm mean it's not like it's your job or anything! Seriously, where do they find these clueless employees? These managers need to a do a better job of training these sales people. If it was me, I would be trying to sell the new Zmax like crazy.
 
I just got the phone a couple hours ago. I'm pleased with it so far. It feels solid the fingerprint reader works a lot better than I thought it would and the games I do play load very quickly. So far my only con is the sim tray. That just annoys me. I don't really want to make sure I have a tool to remove my memory card if I need to do so.

Yeah I'm either going to do that or keep the little tool in it. Just kinda would have liked it to be a push to pop out thing instead. Also the screen is very bright seems brighter than my g stylo even on the dimmest setting it seems bright

Oh it definitely is brighter. I've owned a 1st gen Zmax and a 1st gen Stylo, and the the Zmax Pro has the best display out of the three. The 1st gen zmax is second, and the 1st gen Stylo is third.

Nothing military about it. I got my username from Halo the shooting game not the military(I've never been in the military). Just a cheap easy substitute for a sim tray opening tool. It has to be a very small paperclip though. It should only be about ¾" to 1" long before you straighten it.
 
I think I got a dud 2 days and constant restarts. I love the phone but the restart are a bit much .

Yeah idk what could be causing that. I'm on day 6 and haven't had any random reboots so far. Is the phone getting hot when this happens? Are there any clues of what could be causing it to restart?
 
They mentioned the wifi calling cut it off 2 hrs later it did it again Metro Return policy is shitty. Going to corporate since the authorized seller was no help

Yeah none of the franchise stores accept returns where I live either. Also, corporate stores will only allow you to get a refund or exchange for your phone if you got it on a new line of service and have less than 1hr of talk time on your new account. If you bought the phone as an upgrade you won't be able to get a refund. You might be able to get a warranty exchange on the grounds of it being defective but if you can't duplicate the issue in the store that will be very difficult.
 
Yea it was upgrade . I don't want to return just exchange I really like it so far. Well except for the restarting. Do you think corporate will exchange it ?

It all depends on how convincing and persuasive you can be. It can be difficult to get a warranty replacement unless you can show the people at the store the problem.

I've had one or two, but I've been playing around with lots of apps and settings.
Do a factory refresh, it can't hurt.
Keep a diary of the reboots with exact times & approximate the previous ones... this carries weight.
You can always call CS & request Retention Department, threatening to leave to AT&T. Might help to give them an out by signing up for handset insurance prior... could also make you look like a more profitable customer... You can cancel it at end of billing cycle.

You can only get the insurance on a phone the same day that you buy it new from MetroPCS.
 
So I tried picking up A Pro today at a corporate MPCS and they were sold out. I called 2 other corperates and they were also sold out... all told me they had no idea when they would receive more... such a disappointment! Los Angeles area

You could try picking one up on ebay or Amazon? You might have to pay more though.

Yeah it isn't available on amazon but there are a lot of scalpers buying it for $99 then paying $4 to get it unlocked and selling it for the full price of $179 on eBay. I'd rather get screwed out of 20-30 bucks by a franchise store than get screwed out of 60-10 bucks by an eBay scalper.

I wouldn't say that it's brighter than the original ZMAX, but sharper. I totally agree that both ZMAX's have a brighter (and better display) than the STYLO line. I own the LG STYLO and it just isn't as good a displa as the ZMAX. Not terrible... but not as good.
