Root Newb Rooting - Do I have this right?

1.)Make a backup of the factory OS in case anything goes wrong

2.)Get a file manager (Astro File)

3.)Get gingerbreak

4.)Use gingerbreak to root phone

5.)Get titanium backup

6.)Use titanium backup to freeze bloatware for better battery life

Do I have this right? My only question is what app do I use for step 1 the original factory backup? I've read about bootstrap, is that the preferred one?

...there no bootstrap made to work for the DX2 yet. That is how you would do a full nandroid backup. I can't recommend to you to root your phone at this point in time.
