Newbie advice

Hello All.

New owner here. Right, bone question time. Should I be running some sort of anti-virus software on my phone?

Also, can anyone recommend a free Ad blocker, as I'm getting annoying adverts in loads of apps I use.

Have never heard about needing an anti virus and you need to root to use an ad blocker.

I use Lookout on mine and the Girls. Not sure if it will ever be needed, its not found anything yet but its subtle and don't even know its there plus its got some other good features like wiping and find my phone etc.

Yeah as Lecter says you will need to be rooted to install adblock software.

I just disable my network connection when playing games with annoying ads so they don't show.

while this works in angry birds (and seasons) this doesnt work for ALL advert payed games....slice it still has adverts in as well as a number of others even after disabling the connection.

I guess I've just been lucky, then, as it seems to do the trick for the ones I play regularly...although thinking about it .... maybe I play Angry Birds too much!
