I feel like I know nothing right now. I just got my Inspire yesterday and bought a 16gb sd card for it, set the phone up and then added my apps, music and photos to the card. Today they had to replace the phone because the screen was lifting and now I have no idea how to get my stuff off the card back to my phone. The AT&T rep was no help either.

Also the only way I could figure out how to get my pics and music on the card was to use the HTC Sync, is that the right way to do it or is there an easier way?

Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks:)

Once you place the card into the phone it should do a quick media scan and locate all media on the card so when you open the gallery you should see your pictures when you open the music player your music should be there etc. You don't actually move the items from the card to the phone as there isn't much internal memory. The camera won't even work without a card installed cause the phone is setup to automatically save pictures taken to the card. If you are having a hard time locating the files for music pics etc try astro file manager. This will allow you to look through the folders on the SD card.

If your pictures aren't showing up in the stock gallery I would suggest trying quickpic. The stock gallery sometimes likes to play hide and seek with the pics, they can be there one min and gone the next then show back up after a while.

As for moving music and whatnot to the SD card HTC sync isn't really needed. You can just put the SD card in a card reader in the computer open the card or connect your phone to your computer through the usb cable and choose mass storage as the connection type and copy your music to the music folder, movies to a movies folder etc. At least this is what I did. And if you don't have a folder called music or movies just right click and make a new folder.

I have a question here. I have 2 days with my Inspire. When I downloaded apps from the market, some of them got installed on the micro SD and other on the phone memory. Is there a difference?

No but if you remove the card you won't be able to use those apps. The whole app isn't on that card just the majority of it to free up internal space. So it's not like you could remove the card stick it in another phone and have the app pop up in the app drawer and work. Also most times if the app has a widget and is on the sd card then the widget won't work. So if you want to use the apps widget you would have to move the app back to the phones internal memory.

Thanks man. I was thinking that thing about the widgets. What I was doing is moving all the games into the micro SD and leaving the apps on the phone memory due to what you said, widgets. Also, Ive heard that every phone runs better apps installed on phone memory. Not sure if this is true on a 1GHz processor but its worth a try.
