Help Newbie browser zoom icon question

I did do a search but I didn't find any info. Not easily anyway.
On my new Epic, when I browse a page (facebook for example)--there is a little plus/minus "rocker switch" icon on the bottom right of the screen. It prevents me interacting with the page behind the icon.
It disappears when I don't touch the screen, but as soon as I touch the screen it pops right back up.
Please tell me the (obviously) simply way to make this icon go away. Forever.
Yeah--you can make fun of me for being a noob also.

it should only come back if u swype across the screen not just touch it but it can be annoying. I haven't read of a way to get rid of either as I've just learned to wait a few seconds till it disappears.

It won't go away. And it is more than annoying. It sits directly on top of "log out" and "full site" links on pages, preventing interaction with those links.
This stupid thing is not part of Dolphin Browser, however and it the single reason I installed the Dolphin browser. However, it seems to be a better browser anyway. Reminds me of Firefox about 6 years ago. Secretly better.
ALSO--rumor has it that it has been removed in the Froyo 2.2 browser. Good. It was a stupid idea in the first place.
