I have a Motorola droid running froyo; I recently had to do a factory reset and I have a half dozen apps that are on the SD card but I don't know how to make them accessible from the phone

If you moved the apps to SD card and then did a factory reset on the phone you're going to need to re-install the apps from the market. If, on the other hand, you backed up the apps to SD card then you'll need to restore them to the phone.
