Help newbie help

So I just came from the iPhone 4 to the inspire. One question I have is how do I turn off the vibration effect when I type?

Thanks

From the home screen press menu-settings-sound-scroll down and uncheck vibrate feedback

This will disable the vibrate when you press any of the four buttons on the bottom. (Home, Menu, Back, Search)

To disable the haptic(vibration) feedback when using the keyboard...

press menu-->settings-->Language & Keyboard-->Touch Input-->Text Input--> uncheck "Vibrate when typing".

I tried it with swype and the stock one and both dont vib when I have that unchecked so I'm clueless cause I see where you are talking about to stop the vib when typing, its odd...

Well I just called HTC to see if my phone was supposed to do this and the lady wasn't really sure her suggestion was to hard reset my phone and see if it still was disabled through checking what I mentioned. Yeah um I'm not going to hard reset my phone for a vibrating feature I wanted off to begin with. Maybe ill call again later and see if I can get someone a little more knowledgeable

That's really weird. I remember having to uncheck that second box when using my stock keyboard and I had to ask the same question. I don't know for sure about now because I'm running a gingerbread ROM.

Yeah I def wouldn't do a reset either. I always love when the employees of the company know less than the consumer.

^exactly, they always jump to hard reset like its the golden answer. Whenever I get that suggestion the fonversation is pretty much over, ill try to figure the problem out myself or post here lol.
