Welcome to the Android Forums Note 3 sub-forum baer5155. I myself hold down the button on my s-pen and press it to the screen for 1-2 seconds until I hear a click or see the screenshot taken. There are more tips for newbies and even more experienced users in this thread.

If you have palm motion enabled, you can swipe left to right with the side of your hand to take a screenshot
