Root newbie needing help please!!

right guys got myself a htc desire has cyanogen 7 installed
android version 2.3.7
kernel2.6.35.14
this all means fookall to me lol
but the thing is when i started phone there was lots of sat nav programs and various programs on phone i took out the 8gb sd card and reset the phone because it kept saying it had no memory,so basically i want to know how to get the programs from the sd card to show up on phone?also my sim contacts seem to have loads missing only showing up to the letter h ???please please help

Not to sure on your contacts as these should be backed up to your Google account and therefore it should be easily restored. As for your applications if you go menu>settings >application's you should be able to see what is on your SD card / internal memory and uninstall what you don't want and move between the SD card and internal memory as required.
If I remember correctly cm7.1 requires you to use s2ex from the market or something similar (check the wiki on cm website) to enable apps to be moved to SD.

Or you could always try another rom.

Did you back up your contacts? Maybe you have your current contacts on gmail and the missing ones on the old rom?
In contacts press menu, try select Gmail as well, just an off chance.
If you still have a back up of your old rom I would try this.
Back up your current one, wipe, restore the old one, got all your contacts? Back em all up to Gmail, restore new Rom, should have all contacts.

Btw, you looked on the Gmail site, see what contacts you have?
