Help Newbie Question

Just got my DX yesterday, first smartphone, absolutely loving it. Two questions that are so simple I am having trouble searching for them.

1. What is the fastest way to make a call? When I'm driving, it's sometimes too much to go to contacts, start typing in the person's name (esp if you mistype), and then calling that person.

2. Can you use voice to make a call to someone on your contacts? I know you can (based on the tutorial video). Whenever I try, it only searches for local businesses. I'll say "Call John Smith" or "Call John Smith Cell" and it google searches those terms.

Thanks!

Under the dialer there are three buttons at the bottom. (Voicemail on the left, the green call button in the middle and the left button takes you too the voice commands.) If you click on this and then you can do the normal voice commands.... Call -> Contact Name -> Mobile 1 etc...

or

Under the app drawer there should be a voice commands app. Add it to any home screen you wish and follow the same directions.

I appreciated it! I also just discovered "Contact Quick Tasks"

Okay. I'm still struggling here.

I go to contacts and hold down the search button. The voice prompt comes up and I'll say "Call Tyler Smith" and it will STILL google it instead of interpreting it as a command.

Edit: I guess I'll just use the "Voice Dialer"

Or you can down load a contact widget that you can set to display your favorites then its a simple one click dialing.
