newbie questions on ps3 jailbreak

i just have a few questions regarding playing backups on ps3.

do i need jailbreak or can i just get any usb flashdrive and download some files in it to make it work?

if yes, is jailbreak a term or a brand? like for the DS cyclo, edge and what have you?

if its a brand, which is the best buy/cheapest but working?

is this like the psp where i need to play cat and mouse with sony, with FW updates and all that?

not too sure, maybe a PS3 hacking forum would be better off to assist you. unless somewhere here is willing to help. I would definately recomend taking any links and etc to PM's/ emails since a lot of the time things like this breach copyright and are illegal.

The only way to play standard games (and play online) is to have the official retail Blu-Ray disc and to put it in disc slot
I believe you can download paid PSN content only 3 times
