Newbie to Android

I think I have figured out this device, for the most part, but I do have a concern and question. Is there a way to get the phone to come out of sleep without having to hit the power button on top everytime???

theres no app that i know of that changes what button you can use to wake the phone. but there is no lock which is an app that removes the lock screen so no more power button then swipe, just push the power button and you are at your home screen

There are several that allow for using "any key" to wake the device.

Widget Locker, etc. Search in Market on "any key."

I tried widgetlocker and couldn't get that to work to wake the phone only to customize the lockscreen, also another one called shaker but apparently that only works correctly on motorola phones
