Root Newbie to rooting question

[darkcyber]

If I root my Droid X, does that turn on the wifi hotspot on the X to where you don't have to feed Verizon extra $$$$ for using the wifi hotspot on my X?

Techie, just never dealt with rooting.

if you root, you can get Wireless tether which turns your phone into a hotspot
Also, theres a way to bypass the verizon way with a paid app, but i don't recall the name

Thanks for the info. I will dig around and see if I can find that app.

Tether is included in some roms by default too.
