Newbie

I am new to my Droid phone and am looking forward to learning more about using it to its fullest potential. But like I said, I am very new not only to the phone but to the whole world of forums. I am a bit intimidated and looking forward to learning and growing.

So I hear people talking about rooting a phone, what does that mean?

Welcome to the Android Forums!

Rooting a phone is essentially establishing administrator (or superuser) privileges on that phone. Having a rooted phone allows you to make modifications to the phones operating system at a level that most phone manufacturers and carriers would prefer that you don't...
