Hi: Just bought a Samsung Galaxy s2 X

I cannot change the timing on it. It takes me forever to figure out what to do, and by that time, the phone has turned off. I also want to put my voice on the answering machine. I have an existing gmail account on my computer, but it won't let me input that into the phone. Any and all help would be appreciated.
