Help Newby clock question

Just had this phone a few days and discovered it's a lot smarter than I am. I would like to know if there is a way to make the clock that's at the top of the home screen smaller.

I searched an saw that there were some apps that might do it but just wondered if there was another way to do it.

By the time my 2 year contract is up I may have this thing figured out.

That clock is just one of the built in widgets. You can remove it by long pressing on it and dragging it down to the trashcan that will appear on the bottom of your screen.
Now long press on the blank spot on your screen (or on any of your home screens), select widgets and then clock. Scroll through the clock choices until you find one you like better, I don't believe you'll find another one that is both clock and weather though.
Personally I use a 1x1 clock widget and the Weatherbug widget - but that just a personal preference.
